Perlane

PerlaneŽ is a dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid suspended in clear gel. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body, it is accepted well into the skin with minimal risk of allergic reactions. PerlaneŽ is injected into the skin to treat wrinkles, facial lines and depressions and for shaping facial contours, such as cheeks, chin and nasolabial folds.

Often used in conjunction with RestylaneŽ, the hyaluronic acid in PerlaneŽ works by binding with water within the skin to plump it up and increase volume and smoothness. Results are immediate and last between six to nine months. A maintenance treatment is necessary once a year to continue the effects. If not maintained, PerlaneŽ will biodegrade naturally and safely in the skin.

Side effects are minimal and can include temporary redness, swelling, itching or tenderness which typically does not last longer than a week.
